Community Association Manager (CAM) Licensing Renewal, Continuing Education, and DORA’s Manager Program Statistics

Community Association Managers can renew their license beginning on May 1, 2016, and must renew their license by July 1, 2016. Managers who already completed their pre-licensing requirements have already satisfied their continuing education requirements to renew their license in 2016, meaning they only need to renew their license with DORA’s Division of Real Estate by July 1, 2016 and pay the $190 renewal fee.

Beginning on July 1, 2016, Managers are required to complete 8 hours of continuing education requirements in order to renew their license for 2017, and must complete 8 hours of continuing education requirements each year thereafter. The 8 hours of continuing education credits must be completed between July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017 to be counted towards the Manager’s 2017 requirements, and both the continuing education credits and the license renewal must be completed by July 1, 2017. DORA’s Division of Real Estate recently released its 2016 Community Association Manager Program Annual Report, which can be viewed here. This annual report provides CAM licensing statistics, CAM complaint status statistics (including complaints received and investigations completed per month), actions taken by the Division of Real Estate Director, and CAM complaint types, data, and trends.
